I missed a couple weeks... I have let down the handful of people who are actually curious as to my incredible music tastes. This week I am featuring an artist who ha had very recent success to the point where they are overplayed, Daft Punk. They actually became popular back in the min-nineties with bass-driven electronica (that's what we called it) dance music before they started featuring pop artists and releasing catching pop songs. In 1997 they released the album "Homework". Their only real hit form the album is this week's song of the week, Around the World. It is a catchy, repetitive, dance song that if you don't at least tap your feet, you must not be alive. Every time I hear it I remember back to my dorm room at UMass playing it on a stereo (we used to have stereos) dominating friends on Playstation (it was technically Playstation 1 and even though technologically inferior than later models it was the technically superior to other Playstation models... a story for another day).
