#BioDub Active Reading Exemplars

9/29/2015

See the exemplars HERE

These examples (from Chapters 2-1 & 2-2) have the perfect balance of quantity and quality. Each of these would earn a 3/3 grade any time of the year. The information they selected was often new, relevant, and meaningful. Notice as well that many recreated pictures from their texts so as to reinforce their notes; after all, that is the purpose of active reading, to reinforce the notes. The amount of information is not as important to me as the quality. I feel these students added an adequate amount of information to their notes that allowed them to create a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Another copy of Active Reading Instructions can fe found HERE.

These exemplars will be saved to the Biology Resources page under the Biology heading.
