In honor of Marty McFly's arrival from 1985 this Wednesday (see Back to the Future II, 1989), my song of the week is from Huey Lewis & The News, The Power of Love. First off, it is a solid 80's rock song. Secondly, it is a solid first song on an awesome 80's movie soundtrack. Third, it is from one of my favorites movie trilogies. Lastly, it is from the first tape I ever purchased (before people downloaded songs, they purchased CDs... before CDs they purchased tapes). Needless to say, the song has very sentimental value to me. Perhaps it hasn't stood the tests of time... it may not be one of those iconic songs that transcends the ages, but it holds a special place in my heart.
