It seems like rock is a dying breed, and even more so hard rock/metal. Regardless through all the apparent noise, there is incredible music in there. Case-in-point is one of my favorite bands, Deftones. They have a lot of great songs, some dark imagery, and are still making music today, but my song of the week is from 1997; the song is called Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away). Since 1997, the have become more experimental and have created a very unique style. Old stuff or new stuff, they have a great sound and are a great listen, especially if you listen to "heavy stuff".
