Only fitting that in this week, my song of the week is my absolute favorite Christmas song, I'll Be Home for Christmas by Bing Crosby. Granted, I am a fan of the Christmas music genre as a whole, but I think one has to appreciate this song regardless of what you celebrate on the 25th of December based on its historical context. The song was originally written and produced in 1943 as a dedication to our young men and women overseas during World War II. I think the song is relevant if you are traveling back home to celebrate with your friends and family. I think it's especially inspiring if you imagine the song's perspective from a soldier longing to be home whilst fighting for a greater cause thousands of miles away. So regardless of how you take in December 25th, I hope you enjoy your vacation and hope this song brings everyone a little comfort no matter how far from your friends and family you are.
