Mr. Dubuque's #SongOfTheWeek 3/9 - 3/16/2015

As old as I feel sometimes, there are some songs that, even temporarily, make me feel like a kid again. My song of the week does just that. It came out when I was a senior in high school, still trying to figure out who I was, enjoying the freedoms that come with growing up. The Smashing Pumpkins 1979 is about youth, angst, wonder, uncertainty, freedom, excitement, fear, and every other emotion that comes with growing up. It's not even their best song, but it is a fun song with great lyrics. I hope the lyrics ring true for the kids today as it did for the kids back in the 90's.
